Prostate Cancer is the third most common cancer among Hong Kongers, ranking just behind lung and colorectal cancer. According to the latest 2020 figures from the Hong Kong Cancer Registry, 1 in every 27 men has a chance of prostate cancer. In new cancer cases, prostate cancer totals 2,315 patients, or 13.9% of all new male cancers. This is a 55% increase from 2010, making prostate cancer one of the fastest growing cancers. The Hong Kong Cancer Fund has long offered free services for prostate cancer survivors and their family members and caretakers. Its “Going Through Project” caters to their needs in a comprehensive and evidence-based approach.

The annual Pink Revolution by Hong Kong Cancer Fund in October is home to a number of breast-cancer related educational and promotional events. Aside from raising awareness, Pink Revolution will also host the “Shop for Pink” campaign: shop to show your support for cancer survivors, spread positivity and fundraise for Hong Kong Cancer Fund’s free breast-cancer services!

The number of women being diagnosed with Breast Cancer is continuing rise year-on-year. Over the last 10 years we have seen new case numbers increase from 3,025 in 2010 to 4,793  in 2019.*

Breast cancer is the most common cancer for Hong Kong women; it’s also the third most lethal one. The annual Pink Revolution by The Hong Kong Cancer Fund continues to raise awareness for breast health and to support survivors.

As the second most common cancer in Hong Kong, colorectal cancer in the city saw 5,556 cases in 2019^. For men aged 45 to 64, it is the most common cancer. Colorectal cancer is one of a few cancers that could be prevented as it develops from intestinal polyps, meaning early detection via colonoscopies can ensure timely removal and recovery.
