Active Surveillance
Accepting, confronting and coping with cancer

From the initial reality of diagnosis, through treatment and recovery, a happy, normal life can be resumed beyond cancer.

There are cases where keeping an eye on a patient’s cancer development is more appropriate than actually treating it. When the doctor will choose to keep an eye on the situation, before deciding when treatment is necessary, if at all. We sometimes call this “Watchful waiting”.

Prostate cancer is often slow-growing and may not cause any problems in your lifetime.Active surveillance is a way of monitoring prostate cancer that’s contained inside the prostate (localised prostate cancer). Doctors will monitor you regularly and will give the treatment if it have any progress.

It might seem strange not to have treatment, but In other words, you might never need any treatment.
