Cancer Fund Launches Hong Kong’s Alcohol-Free Campaign

1 December 2016

The Hong Kong Cancer Fund is launching it’s month long alcohol free challenge again this year following success of the launch last year. The Soberman campaign, in which participants are encouraged to forgo alcoholic drinks in order to raise funds for the charity, runs for the month of January 2017 with registration open from 1st December.

Soberman is a campaign for a cause and aims to encourage a healthier lifestyle for participants. The funds raised will go towards the free services and programmes that we offer to anyone touched by cancer in Hong Kong. By joining the campaign, participants will become a ‘Soberman’ and will raise funds for the Cancer Fund by asking friends to support their alcohol free month.

If you are unable to go completely alcohol-free, due either to a special event or anniversary, you can simply donate HK$100 as a ‘liquor levy’.

Organic health-food shop nood is supporting the campaign by offering a discount on its Juice Cleanse to any Soberman participant during the 30-day challenge.

As an added incentive, there are amazing prizes to be won for the top three fundraisers:

  • Fundraiser –  A 3 night stay in a luxury villa in Phuket (including breakfast)
  • Runner Up –  ICON36 Harbour View Room (including breakfast) for two at the Hotel ICON
  • Second Runner Up – A one night stay for 2 people at the JW Marriott Macau

Other prizes include: a Conrad HK dining voucher and a dinner buffet for two at the Renaissance Hong Kong Harbour View Hotel.
