To improve the standard of cancer care in Hong Kong, it is important that front-line medical staff receives training on latest cancer care techniques.

We provide further training for doctors and clinicians in oncology and related topics through the Fellowship Scheme. The main objective is to equip medical professionals with updated skills and knowledge so as to provide better care and services to patients and their families. Recent sponsorships include the 2001 Speech Odyssey in Hawaii, Certificate Course in Lymphoedema (2002, Hong Kong) and the 6th World Congress Psycho-Oncology Conference (2003, Canada).

We also sponsor a scholarship programme in psycho-oncology at the Centre for Psycho-Oncology Research and Teaching at the University of Hong Kong. Its aim is to recognize outstanding academic potential in a clinically-qualified (medical, nursing, other) candidate undertaking full-time doctoral research studies at CePORT. The work must be related to Hong Kong or southern China, and the scholarship grants HK$100,000 per year with a 3 year maximum. It seeks to create a pool of well-qualified researchers in psycho-oncology in Hong Kong.
